With over 30 years in the profession, I have seen several disruptive digital technologies come and go that have had significant impacts on markets, the economy, and how we live.
In my area of responsibility, this primarily involved the globally available internet, the merging of IT and telecommunications leading to the complete transformation of the telecommunications market in the true sense, and now AI-based business models.
What always amazed me was the fact that these disruptive technologies were merely enablers for something much bigger: new visions, strategies, business models, and organizational structures. That, for me, is the whole fascination of digital transformation.
